Static Study creates bespoke portraits through objects. Each portrait may reflect an individual, a relationship, a family, or a collective.

Objects can evoke memories, emotions, metaphors, beliefs, and values. Their meanings are not inherent, but shaped by the relationships we form with them. By examining these relationships, each object becomes an entry point into a broader context.

Static Study 以物件為主體，為個人、一段關係、一個家庭或團體，製作專屬的物件肖像。

What is an object?

 Before examining our relationship with objects, perhaps we should first ask: what is an object?

We often see objects as tools—made, used, and designed for a purpose. Yet their meaning can extend far beyond their function.

A key may recall a former home; a CD, a childhood summer; a saved ticket, an experience known only to the person who was there. These meanings are not inherent, but formed through use, time, and our relationships with them.

Objects retain traces of people, places, and time. Their value lies not only in price, function, or appearance, but in how they become part of our lives—offering clues to memory, relationships, choices, and identity.

在理解物件與我們之間的關係以前，也許可以先思考：什麼是物件？

我們往往將物件視為一種工具，一種被製造、使用，並具有特定功能的東西。然而，它所留下的意義，往往遠超過原本的用途。

一把鑰匙可能讓人想起曾經生活過的地方；一張 CD 可能讓人回到童年裡的某個夏天；一張被保留下來的車票，也可能連結著一段只有當事人才記得的經歷。這些意義並非物件本身所固有，而是在使用、保存與相處的過程中逐漸形成。

物件不只是物件。它們留有時間與使用的痕跡，也顯示人與人之間曾經建立的連結。一件物品可能經過製作者、擁有者與使用者之手，並在不同的生命階段中被重新理解。
物件的價值並不完全來自價格、功能或外觀，而在於它如何參與一個人的生活。透過物件，我們得以重新閱讀關於記憶、關係、選擇與身份的線索。
